The short version
Not part of the agreement — the sections below are. But this is the honest summary:
- Your training data lives on your device and, if you have iCloud on, in your own iCloud account. It does not come to us. We have no server and no account system, and there is nothing for us to log into.
- We ask health questions, and the answers stay on your device with everything else. We do not sell them or share them with anyone.
- There is no advertising, and no advertising or analytics company receives anything from this app.
- Deleting the app deletes the local copy. Deleting True Balance's data from your iCloud settings deletes the synced one.
1. Who this is from
True Balance is published by 11244558 Canada Inc., of 21 Melrose Drive, Millbrook, Ontario L0A 1G0, Canada. We are the controller of the information this policy describes. Questions about privacy go to tejanvm@gmail.com.
2. What True Balance stores
Everything the app records about you:
- What the intake keeps — your name, age, weight, training experience, your goal, how many days a week you train and for how long, where you train and what equipment you have, your usual sleep and stress, and which areas you want prioritised or left alone.
- What the intake asks but does not keep — your biological sex, and your answers to the health screening, surgery, conditions and pregnancy questions. These are used while you are answering them, to decide which questions apply and whether to recommend medical clearance, and are then discarded. What is kept from them is narrow: the injury areas you named, so movements loading those joints can be held back, and a single flag recording that your answers indicated you should speak to a doctor first. Your answer about sex is kept only if it set which body diagram you see, and only as that preference.
- Your training — every session, exercise, set, weight, repetition count, rest, and the times they happened.
- Check-ins — soreness, sleep, stress, energy, and any pain you flag before or after a session, plus the readiness scores calculated from them.
- Body measurements you choose to record.
- Preferences and history the app learns — movements you swap away or pin, drills you reject or favourite, and per-exercise statistics.
- Records of your agreement — which version of the Terms you accepted, when, and when you acknowledged the training risks.
3. Where it is stored, and who can see it
On your device, and — if you have iCloud enabled — in your own iCloud account, using Apple's CloudKit private database. That is the same mechanism that syncs your other apps. It is your storage, not ours.
We do not operate a server. We have no copy of your training data, no account for you, no password of yours, and no way to look at any of it. If you email us about a problem, we can only see what you choose to tell us.
Apple processes iCloud data under Apple's own privacy policy.
4. Health information
The screening answers, injuries, conditions, pregnancy status, soreness and pain flags are health information, and are treated as the most sensitive thing the app holds. They are used for one purpose: deciding what the app suggests you do, and when it should stop suggesting anything and tell you to see a doctor.
They are never shared with anyone, and never sold. There is no circumstance in which we sell your data.
5. Apple Health
If you grant permission, True Balance:
- writes each finished workout, with its duration and estimated active energy, to Apple Health;
- reads your body weight, used only to estimate the calories a session burned.
Permission is asked for separately by iOS and can be withdrawn at any time in the Health app. Nothing is read or written before you allow it, and Health data is never sent to us or to any third party.
6. Purchases
There are none. The app is free and sells nothing, so there is no payment information for anyone to handle — not us, and not on our behalf.
Nothing in the app reads your App Store account or your purchase history, and no identifier for your installation is created or sent anywhere.
7. What we do not do
- No advertising, and no advertising SDK in the app at all.
- No third-party SDKs of any kind. The app links nothing but Apple's own frameworks and its own code, so there is no other company for your data to reach even by accident.
- No analytics. The app contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDK, and we collect no usage statistics.
- No accounts, no email list, no marketing.
- No selling or sharing of personal information.
- No profiling beyond what the app itself does on your device to choose your next session.
8. Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA and its provincial equivalents), and under the GDPR and UK GDPR if you are in the EU or the UK, you have rights to access, correct, delete, and port your personal information, and to withdraw consent.
Because your data is held on your device and in your own iCloud account rather than by us, most of these you can exercise directly and immediately:
- Access and portability — everything the app knows is visible in the app.
- Correction — change any answer in Settings, or re-run the intake.
- Deletion — see section 9.
- Withdrawing consent — revoke Health access in the Health app, or turn off iCloud sync for True Balance in iOS Settings.
If you would rather make a request to us, write to tejanvm@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to your local supervisory authority.
9. Deleting your data
- Delete the app — removes everything stored on that device.
- Delete the iCloud copy — iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → True Balance → Delete Data. This removes the synced copy from your iCloud account.
- Apple Health — workouts already written to Health are yours and stay there. Delete them in the Health app.
We hold nothing to delete on our side.
10. Children
True Balance is for adults and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
11. Changes
If this policy changes materially, the app will say so. The current version is always readable in Settings.
